Guilty pleasures. Even the purest hip hop heads have them. Really, most of my music collection is music I sometimes am ashamed of. I heard this song for the first time a couple weeks ago, but I totally forgot I wanted to find it til a few days ago. If you don’t know who JBar is, he’s the dude on the right in the above pic and the dude usually in the background of all the Soulja Boy Youtube videos. He’ll often be the guy laughing at Soulja’s jokes, you know being a good “friend” and stuff. You can hate Soulja Boy all you want but this lil song is catchy as hell.

These dudes are going to look back on this photo and think to themselves, “Why the hell did we let them convince us to do this pose?” Listenin to somebody rap about wearing Coogi in 2010 is looked down upon and automatically qualifies for a guilty pleasure.

So I disappeared for a few days, as I so often do, and this time it was because I took a minute to go visit NYC as part of my final college spring break. Usually since I’m so far away from home, I take the time to go home, but I decided to go visit the city I’m so close to but oh so far away from.

In the past few days I’ve learned that I couldn’t live in NYC unless I just didn’t value my life or the lives of others, and that was a conclusion I came to just while driving around (bad idea). I also learned that people in New York argue. A lot. In the short time I was in the city I saw a couple break up, a man beat a taxi with an American flag, our doorman argue in the middle of the street with our prospective cabbie, and bff’s arguing over a guy. So basically I learned relationships and taxis suck in NY.

And last but definitely not least, I learned that pizza in Upstate New York tastes just like pizza in New York City #gofigure. Somehow I thought New York pizza would be different once you’re actually in New York City.

And this will really not be my final spring break, because I will must have a job that allows me to take a week off in the middle of March for no good reason and pretend to be in college again.

#therealworldsucks so I gotta live it up for these last few months. Music treats shall commence again soon.

I’m not gon lie…I’m a lil disappointed in this “return” but nevertheless the King (is) back.
