When’s the last time you listened to R&B?

Not Trey Songz talkin bout he invented some ish that invented him, or Rihanna talkin bout how she’s so hard and likes rude men, but like real R&B. The genre of R&B is slowly dying, and as I’ve said multiple is in a way worse state than hip hop ever was. But today is a new day, and 2010 appears to be a new year for R&B music.

Jaheim is releasing a new album February 9th, called Another Round, which also happens to be his fifth album (who knew?). The lovely Vivian Green (most known for Emotional Rollercoaster) is also releasing a new album this year, and Monica’s new album is supposed to finally drop as well. Not to mention the return of Dru Hill and Jodeci. Joking.

Aiight so those of you that have been down with the blog for a few years can probably remember my obsession with the Beats by Dre. You may have also noticed that I stopped talking about them. Well this because I finally got my own pair. But the Beats have evolved since I stopped talking about them, from the classic Studios, to the Lady Gaga joints, to the Solos, and now even Diddy is gettin a pair.

But what has peaked my interest is these new new joints, the Dr. Dre Spins, made particularly with the dj in mind. Folks that know me know me, may also know that I have a not-so-secret secret desire to be a dj, and I do believe that these could help me make that transition from electrical engineer to professional dj (yeah right). Again, they beast with the price, but it doesn’t matter since somebody stupid, like me, will pay an insane amount for a decently good set of headphones.

Yes, I said decently good.

Honestly, after having a pair which I do love and care for deeply, I will say that Bose still probably makes a better sounding pair of headphones. Now I have to wait and hear what these new Spin headphones sound like, but I’d still bet my money that Bose would win in a sound off (similar to a You Got Served dance off but only with head bobbin).

So anyways, if anybody knows somebody that can get me a pair of these for the low, let me know cuz I need some new new stuff in my life. Thank you and good day.

I had plans to talk about this later, but I’ve pretty much been listenin to this one song on repeat since I heard it. If this is what J. Cole is doin on somebody else’s song….“mama I aint done yet, sit back and watch yo son rise, kick back and kno yo son set” I wonder what his album gon’ be like. Ridiculous I’m sure.

Directed by Hype Williams. Why he use all these explosions like that’s sposed to excite somebody? Why this joint look like a Puffy video from the 90s? Why do I have so many questions?

Umm other than that….Em is clearly the best in the vid. Like I actually was hyped when he came on.

And I like Drake better when I don’t have to look at him, but that’s not really new info.

Yeah and I’m still kinda sick, but I’m a little bit better. All I’ve really wanted to do that’s required effort is get on Twitter. I plan on catchin yall up and gettin back to the updates a little later today.

So Drake was at SUNY Purchase a few weeks ago…I actually wanted to go, but couldn’t make it. Anyways, I watched the videos of the performance and I got to thinkin bout some things.

Now if you read the blog, you knowwww I love Drake.

But uh…his wheelchair Jimmy swag he’s been doin some stuff lately that has roused some questions.

Maybe his live performance isn’t really that hot? Maybe he’s trying to hard? Not hard enough? I’m not quite sure what it is, but somethin just feels off….

Note the Kanye stanky arm. Note the finger pointing. Note the unnecessary pelvic thrust. Note the crotch holding. Not grabbing, but holding.

I dunno…maybe I hold him to too high of a standard. Maybe I want him to be perfect. But this interview combined with him freestylin off his Blackberry last week just left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Maybe I’m buggin…but does anybody feel me tho?

Honestly, I probably won’t be back to normal til after like Tuesday….but I figured I’d try and get it together a little bit today.
